Caper's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Takeback and Recycling Program

Caper is committed to meeting the requirements of the European Union’s WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2012/19/EU and Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542. These laws require producers of electrical and electronic equipment and batteries to finance the takeback of WEEE and waste batteries from products placed on the EU market. This ensures that WEEE and waste batteries are safely reused or recycled.

Our Commitment:

  • Takeback Service: Caper will accept the return of WEEE and industrial waste batteries from you. Please email us at EUrecylcing@instacart.com for details.

How You Can Help:

We all  have a role to play in ensuring that WEEE and waste batteries are reused and recycled safely. If you choose not to return WEEE or waste batteries to us, it is your responsibility to dispose of these items properly.

  • Avoid Bin Disposal: Do not dispose of WEEE or waste batteries  in your bin. The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on the product serves as a reminder
  • Separate Collection: Ensure that WEEE and waste batteries are collected separately and sent for proper treatment.

Why It Matters:

  • Health & Safety: WEEE and waste batteries contain hazardous substances.  Improper disposal can cause pollution and harm human health.
